Morning Bible reading is made real

The morning after we learned about the unrest in Kenosha, we were awakened by rumbling thunder. Our reading for morning prayer was Psalm 29, where "the God of glory thunders," surely an applicable message! The ending of the passage resonated, too: "The LORD is enthroned as King forever. The LORD gives strength to His people; the LORD blesses His people with peace." We were comforted by HIs reminder of His power and His sovereignty. In this time of unrest in our country, we pray that we may be confident and peaceful as we trust in the Lord.
